Abstract

This article examines the distinctive features of the spiritual environment that emerged in Europe during the Renaissance and analyzes the philosophical and theological views of one of the most prominent thinkers of the period, Nicholas of Cusa. The study highlights the role of humanistic ideas, the revival of interest in classical antiquity, the criticism of scholastic thought, and the development of science in shaping the worldview of Nicholas of Cusa. Particular attention is paid to his concept of learned ignorance, his understanding of the relationship between God and the universe, and the interaction between philosophy and theology.
